A global voluntary initiative assisted residents in need and alleviated food insecurity for Edenred employees
FREMONT, CA: "We had a great day volunteering at the Newton Food Pantry," says Ed Fleischmann, CEO of Edenred USA. "We are very proud to be actively giving back to the community, reinforcing our commitment to social responsibility and supporting those in need."
In order to reduce food insecurity and assist Newton citizens in need, Edenred, the global leader in specific-purpose payments, teamed up with the Newton Food Pantry, a local independent organization situated in Newton, Massachusetts.
Idealday is an annual international day of service that takes place in all 45 nations where Edenred has operations. Employees of Edenred participate voluntarily in social, societal, and environmental responsibilities, as outlined in the "Ideal" policy. This is one of the three pillars of the Edenred Group's CSR strategy, which also includes Idealpeople, which attempts to enhance the quality of life, Idealplanet, which works to protect the environment; and Idealprogress, which aims to responsibly produce value.
At their free grocery store for Newton residents, located at 1000 Commonwealth Avenue in Newton, Edenred, USA, personnel helped the Newton Food Pantry this year by replenishing additional food and personal care items while providing customer service to shoppers. Additionally, employees assisted customers with loading their purchases into their vehicles.
Beyond Idealday, Edenred encourages its staff to volunteer in the community. Activities contributing to the annual ESG objective might be compensated working hours. It's just another way to support the neighborhood while collaborating with other Edenred staff members.
