Splendor Water delivers premium naturally pure sparkling water from the Cotopaxi Volcano and bottled at the source in La Mana, Ecuador. Its standards align with the craftsmanship associated with longstanding European brands.
Unlike mainstream sparkling water brands in the U.S. that often feel overwhelmingly carbonated or even ‘spicy’, Splendor Water offers light carbonation that enhances the water’s natural taste without overpowering it. Its balanced minerals and low total dissolved solids deliver a clean, refreshing taste. This careful balance makes it enjoyable on its own and versatile as a mixer for cocktails, mocktails and creative water combinations.
“Our goal has always been to offer water that truly tastes like Splendor’s unmatched clean, crisp taste, with just a touch of bubbles,” says Sara Couch, General Manager of Splendor Water U.S.
Splendor started with a vision to bottle clean-tasting volcanic mineral water from Ecuador, prized for its rare mineral balance of electrolytes and colloidal gold and silver—one of the only sources in the world to contain this unique combination. Over time, the brand expanded, introducing a sparkling version which has since won accolades such as the Superior Taste Award from the International Taste Institute and a Gold Medal from the Fine Water Society. Today, every bottle delivers consistent quality, appealing to restaurants, cafés and hotels.
Early attempts to export sparkling water in plastic bottles revealed challenges with shelf life and maintaining carbonation. After several years of experimentation and refinement, Splendor transitioned to glass bottles. It improved presentation, preserved carbonation and enabled successful U.S. exports, while Ecuador has retained the sparkling option in both glass and recycled PET options.
Every stage of bottling keeps the water as close as possible to its natural state. The water flows through magnetized stainless-steel piping that mimics the movement of the spring itself. Once bottled, carefully balanced CO₂ is added to create a light sparkle.
A custom mold preserves Splendor’s signature silhouette. Its shape features a gentle curve with a middle indentation, making it easy to hold and carry while also giving the design a refined, sculptural quality.
Durability is equally important. In Ecuador, each glass bottle is designed to be washed, refilled, and reused up to 60 times, highlighting Splendor’s commitment to sustainability. The brand developed a thicker glass strong enough to withstand repeated cycles of recollection and reuse.
It currently offers 350- and 750-milliliter glass bottles, with the 750-milliliter size serving as the hero product. In response to strong demand from retail and restaurant partners in the U.S., it is now exploring the addition of a one-liter option in 2026. It is also considering lighter glass alternatives for markets outside Ecuador, where the return-and-reuse system is still in process of implementation. A similar return model is planned for the U.S., though likely on a longer five-year timeline.
Over the next 18 to 24 months, Splendor is focused on accelerating its U.S. presence across still and sparkling water. Momentum is building through a mix of retail partnerships and e-commerce growth.
On the retail front, the brand has already secured placements on shelf at premium national grocer Sprouts Farmers Market, as well as regional chains such as Erewhon and Bristol Farms in Southern California, Gristedes and D’Agostino’s in New York City, and Haggen and Metropolitan Market in the Pacific Northwest.
Complementing its retail growth, Splendor has also launched on Walmart.com, a mix of formats for direct-to-consumer purchase in addition to all formats available on their own website, splendorwater.com. Newly engineered shipping boxes ensure that even fragile glass bottles arrive safely at customers’ doors.
With strategic expansion and continued focus on quality and social responsibility, customers nationwide can now enjoy Splendor’s premium sparkling water anywhere.
